Start a Future Physician Club at Your School

Dear Future Physicians,
If you're interested in medicine, you may have noticed that it isn't always easy to find opportunities to explore what being a physician is actually like while you're still in high school.
That's why we created Future Physician Society (FPS) school chapters. FPS chapters bring together students who are interested in medicine and connect them with a larger community of aspiring physicians and physician-led educational programming.
What can an FPS chapter bring to your school?
Through the Future Physician Society, students can go beyond traditional science classes and begin exploring topics they'll eventually encounter in medical training.
Programming includes opportunities to learn about:
Clinical cases and how physicians approach diagnosis
Medical specialties and different paths within medicine
Medical ethics and challenging decisions physicians face
Evidence-based medicine and medical research
Public health and issues affecting patients and communities
Starting a chapter can also give you the opportunity to take on a leadership role at your school while building a community of students who share your interest in medicine.
What do you need to get started?
The first major step is finding a faculty member at your school who is willing to serve as your chapter's advisor.
From there, you'll follow your school's process for establishing a student organization. Every school handles this a little differently, so your faculty advisor can help you understand your school's specific requirements.
You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out to us.
If you're interested in bringing the Future Physician Society to your school, you can submit a Chapter Request Form to receive information about the next steps, including how to approach a potential faculty advisor.
